Request for Proposals: Annual Financial Statement Audit

About CASTL

CASTL is a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization dedicated to building a highly skilled workforce for Canada’s biomanufacturing and life sciences sector. Operating from three training facilities in Charlottetown, Montreal, and Vancouver, we provide industry-leading hands-on and online training in collaboration with the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) in Dublin, Ireland.

CASTL is funded through a combination of training revenue from industry partners and government support, with an annual operating budget of approximately $7.5 million.

Scope of Work

The selected audit firm will be responsible for:

  • Conducting financial statement audits and preparing annual financial reports
  • Evaluating accounting procedures and identifying risk areas
  • Preparing and filing corporate tax returns (T2 and T1044)
  • Presenting audit findings to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors
  • Conducting project-specific audits as required

Submission Guidelines

CASTL invites proposals from firms with demonstrated experience in auditing not-for-profit organizations. Proposals should outline:

  • Firm qualifications and audit team experience
  • Proposed audit methodology and timeline
  • Cost structure for the three-year engagement

Deadline for Submissions

 Proposal due date: February 27, 2025, by 12:00 noon AST
